
A driveway carries several tons on the same tracks every day. It needs a deeper base than a walkway and a stronger edge, because pavers spread sideways under load and only the edge restraint stops them.
We excavate to depth, compact in lifts, and set the border first so the field has something to run to. Joints are filled and locked, then the surface is compacted once more with the units in place.
Done this way a paver drive stays flat for decades. And when the ground does move, or a utility has to be dug up, individual units lift out and go back. Poured concrete does not give you that.
